Rosepane
Principles

Built to survive a hard question.

Workforce data decides pay, promotion and who is accountable for what. These are the rules Rosepane is built on, and the things it will not do.

History is kept, never overwritten

Every change is recorded as a new event: who made it, why, and from which screen. Nothing is edited in place. A correction in next month’s file supersedes the old value; it doesn’t erase it. Settings and rules work the same way: an amendment supersedes, so a past finding is always judged by the rule that was in force on its date.

Every fact shows its work

A figure on screen resolves to the source file it came from, when it was recorded, and the reason. Where Rosepane doesn’t know something, such as a manager or a start date, it says so as a state, rather than showing a blank or a zero that looks like an answer.

When sources disagree, a person decides

Rosepane never quietly picks a winner between your HRIS, payroll and other sources. It shows both versions and names an owner. Precedence rules start out unranked, so no default settles a disagreement silently. A hand correction stays in force until a later load agrees with it.

It never ranks people

Nothing in Rosepane is ordered by anything evaluative. Lists sort by name, seat or consequence and due date. There is no score for a person, no leaderboard and no generated praise. What it measures is the work owed, not who is doing well.

No AI making decisions about people

No model writes findings, summaries or judgments about anyone. Every answer comes from the record, with the dates it assumed shown and editable. Rosepane doesn’t search for individuals or build profiles of them.

Access is deliberate, and recorded

Accounts are never self-service: HR operations grants each one. A manager’s line of sight is computed from the org structure, so they see their own line and no more. HR operations can preview exactly what any role would see before granting it, and every grant, preview and load is written to an append-only access log.

Your data stays yours

Each organization’s record lives in its own database, not a shared one. Rosepane reads the exports you give it and doesn’t write back to your systems of record.

Bring us your hardest roster.

We’re working with a small number of pilot partners. Send us the questions your systems can’t answer today: backdated changes, people between seats, sources that disagree. We’ll show you what Rosepane does with them.
